Today I had cake twice. The second occasion I was at my uncle’s birthday celebration at my grandparents’ house, and you can see my uncle’s house from their kitchen window. My uncle & his wife just got satellite television, even though they don’t watch that much TV. My grandma didn’t care for the satellite dish that had been installed on the roof of their house. “It looks like a big, bad bird,” she said. “Like a peacock, or a turkey.”

Today I found a bunch of old vintage computer equipment cleaning out storage rooms at work. Alongside a Model M keyboard, there was a sealed box of 5″ floppies, which held 1.4MB worth of data each. They had won so many accolades! Copy 4MB in just 10 minutes, they boasted. I took them home with me for posterity. I also grabbed a MS-DOS 3.3 “Advanced Personal Computer” User’s Manual. I thumbed through it on my way home from work. It was really cool reading how people did computer-business before I was even born.

It had special instructions on what commands to input if you have the optional 1MB RAM drive installed. They recommended it, in fact.
